Chasing Daylight
I feel like I've neglected my new found blog life. In its place has been a lot of "16As," "25Fs," peanuts, strange airline seat mates, and the like. More specifically, I feel like I'm on a race to see how many hours of daylight I can squeeze into a "day." Today, I'm going on 20 hours of daylight. My body is definitely confused...but as my friend Phillip declared: the plus side is the ability to easily rationalize eating 6+ meals in one day! (who can complain about that?!)
A last minute decision on Monday night had me jumping on a plane to Switzerland on Tuesday morning. A couple beautiful days later, I'm back in the states and headed for South Carolina. But I wanted to press pause a moment to relish all that is Zurich. What a cool city...
We landed at 7 a.m. Zurich time and tried our best to overcome our all-too-intelligent internal body clocks. We spent the entire day walking the city and taking photos.
Zurich sits on a lake, has a river flowing through it, is spotlessly clean, and is...idyllic. With weather in the 70s, a good partner in crime and about 5 coffees in my system—I canvassed the city. Swans are everywhere. I suppose it's a Switzerland thing, as I was once in Geneva and it was the same story. They are mean as hell, but I like to pretend I could pet them at any moment if I liked. |
People were sunbathing EVERYWHERE. The spot shown here was a little more natural than the oh-too-many sidewalks where men could be found sunbathing in their speedos. |
We took a water taxi—or should I say Wassertaxi—to dinner and got great views of the city and the beautiful boats taking advantage of the perfect day. |
I know, I know...I'm a child. |
Love these shots. And you.
